Snow fell heavily over the area during the previous weekend and into the beginning of the week, giving fantastic cover for the time of year. Resorts were quoting well over a metre of snow on upper slopes.

Skiing and boarding conditions were superb. Temperatures were about -10°C in the car park as lifts opened, and only warmed up a little during the day. On-piste was excellent packed powder whilst off-piste was powdery bliss. If this had been part of the previous season, everyone would have been describing this as the best weekend of the season! Lift queues were non-existent and it was sunny all weekend - though we were looking down onto cloud in the valleys below.
