The idea behind the joestravels website was to maintain an online
record of my round the world travels from February to April
2003.
I set off from London on 13th February and, together with
a friend I used to work with, travelled to Thailand, Singapore,
Australia, New Zealand, The Cook Islands, California, and
back to London on 15th April.
Highlights were elephant-trekking
in Thailand, snorkelling
on the Great Barrier Reef and jetboating
on the Dart River near Queenstown in New Zealand - but
without doubt the best day of the whole trip was visiting
the island
of Aitutaki, one of the Cook Islands. Favourite city... it's got to be Sydney.
Enormous thanks are due to the following people, who were
so hospitable and helped make the trip so enjoyable:
Jon & Brigitte, Chia & Kelvin, Bryan & Susan,
Nick & Fong, Chris & Helen, Jim & Anne, Rick,
Anella & Paul, Nick & Tanny, Caroline, Don & Jan.
A huge thank you goes to ManLan who was great company and
a wonderful travelling companion for two months.
Thanks for visiting the joestravels site - hope you enjoy
this record!
